For the second year in a row, a Longhorn Cellist has been named winner of the New York International Artists Competition. Ying Zhang (DMA ’16) took First Prize in the top category of the 2016 Cello Competition earlier this month, joining Yi Xin (DMA ’14), who won a year ago in the 2015 Cello Competition. NYIAC will present Ying, as well as winners from other instruments, in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in October 2016.
