This Saturday, November 23, at 8:00pm, at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin, Tetractys kicks off its 5th season with a bang featuring a Composer Portrait of legendary New York composer and new Austin resident, Annie Gosfield. Joining Tetractys co-founders Matthew Armbruster (MM ’16) and James Burch (DMA ’16) in performing Ms. Gosfield’s works are three other string players and three percussionists.

Lauren Peacock (MM ’16) has won the Assistant Principal Cello position in the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Founded in 1921 by a group of volunteer musicians, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra has since evolved and grown into the state’s only full-time professional orchestra, passionately pushing the boundaries of music through concert, education, and creativity.
Seulki Lee (DMA ’19) has won a Section Cello position in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Based in the capital city, Little Rock, the ASO is comprised of the state’s most sought after professional musicians and is heard by more than 165,000 Arkansans each year at the Robinson Performance Hall and the William J. Clinton Presidential Library.
Just beginning the second year of his master’s degree, Matthew Gustavson (MM ’20) has been offered a section cello position in the Austin Symphony Orchestra. Congratulations, Matthew!
Dylan Rieck (MM ’09) has won the Principal Cello position in the Portland Opera Orchestra, of which he has been a member since 2015. Founded in 1964, Portland Opera is based at The Hampton Opera Center in Portland, Oregon. Its performances take place in the Keller Auditorium and Newmark Theatre, both part of the Portland Center for the Performing Arts.
Seth Russell (DMA ’19) has won the top prize in the 2019 New York International Artists Cello Competition. New York International Artists Association will present Seth, as well as winners from other instruments, in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in October.
